RESTORATION
OF MASSEY FERGUSON 35
BY
MAYO NORTH OLD ENGINE AND TRACTOR
CLUB
![]() The tractor as purchased, with the tinwork already removed. Although complete and a runner, it is intended to fully restore it to make a worthwhile prize. |
![]() Club Secretary Stanley Jackson gives it an initial power wash to remove the worst of 40 plus years of accumulated muck. Looks like the wheels have already been done! |
![]() The tractor has been stripped further and shot blasted to remove all loose paint and rust. Club member Eddie Stanton is shown working away at the front. |
All
back together
and ready for spraying. The
engine,
gearbox and brakes have been stripped and parts replaced as necessary.
|
![]() The primer has now been applied. The tyres in the background have been masked for spraying, they are not “whitewalls”! |
![]() Jackie McGreal working on the reassembly, after complete mechanical restoration. . |
![]() The restoration team left to right; Eddie Stanton, Paddy
Jordan, Frank Burke, Club
Treasurer Martin
Forrestall, Secretary Stanley Jackson, Chairman Michael McLoughlin. Jackie McGreal is not seen here, but above right. Most of these lads have a
number of tractor
restorations to their credit already.
|
![]() The finished job, resplendent in the correct colour two pack paint. Note the new footboards, lights and seat cushions. This tractor is ready for work, play, or just to look at and admire! THIS TRACTOR COULD BE YOURS FOR A TENNER!!!!! . |
